British Indoor Championships

Chill Factore, Manchester, 19th October 2013

After more than a decade the British Indoor Championships will be taking up residence at Chill Factore, the UK's official Snowsports Centre of Excellence and the longest slope in the land.

In what will be the final National Championships ahead of an expectant Winter Olympics, expect a general assembly of GB hopefuls, shredding all-comers and a posse of those that couldn't give a monkey's about Sochi but rip all the same, all under the glare of a heightened media spotlight.

Stepping up to the plate, Chill Factore are primed to lay down a legit set-up, broken into zones with an emphasis on creative lines and transfer potential to host the British Championships, which willcontinue with its rider-focused jam format.

An open jam session of the whole slope will run for a leg-dropping 90 minutes to give everyone ample time to lock into the course and throw down before the field is cut in half.  The remaining riders will then session one zone at a time with the field being continually cut after each round,  culminating in one mega shred-off on the final zone.  The format is simple; throw down to stay in.

Whilst appeasing the masses with a current and inclusive jam-focused Championship, there is also a desire from young rippers that are less likely to be challenging for the overall title to measure themselves amongst their peers. Therefore the kids and youth categories (under 16s) will be run in the traditional format, where the field will get two individually judged runs of the entire course with their best run counting.
