The Town

The Town

Back in 1996, the canny fellows of LAAX set their stall out to become a pioneering resort that dedicates all of its energy to the love and pursuit of all things freestyle. 15 years on, with countless awards in the trophy cabinet they have achieved their goal in serious style.

In 2001, the now famous Riders Palace became the first high-tech and Design Hotel in the Alps, where its funky cribs are fitted out with plasma-screen TV's, DVD projector systems and Xbox consoles. The Lobby Bar is a 24-hour watering hole that offers sophistication rarely seen outside Capital cities and deep in the depths of the basement lurks the mammoth 1500 capacity Riders Palace Club which has played host to Busta Rhymes, De La Soul, Dizzee Rascal and many more.

In 2009, Riders Palace was forced to relinquish its Design Hotel status to LAAX's newest upstart, rocksresort (no city in the world is allowed 2 Design Hotels… not even LAAX), which takes stylish Alpine living to a ridiculously indulgent level, but most remarkably at affordable prices.

In a nutshell, LAAX is one stylish mo-fo and conveniently placed to boot, just 20 minutes from Chur and 1.5hrs from both Zurich and Friedrichshafen.

"High mountains, consistent snow, super-good funparks and good old fashioned Swiss hospitality. If you are looking for a week of guaranteed snow, impressive mountains and fantastic facilities, this is one of Europe's top freestyle resorts" - Snowboarding the World.
